People do not READ. It was self defense. Those robbers were BLASTING. 40 rounds exchanged.
Sucks someone had to die but that's the price you pay when you decide to commit a crime and use deadly force.. aka we're going to rob the Apple store and if anyone tries to stop us we're shooting.
I'm just glad the security guard survived this ordeal. Imagine if the headline read "Security guard dead in Apple store robbery"
This could easily of been the case.

Woohoo! 3GHz here we come. As was mentioned before, though, a mid-sized tower priced at the iMac level (but upgradable) would be the final logical step in the Apple product line. That would leave Woodcrest to the high end MacPro with its quad configuration.
Try 4Ghz...Anandtech in their review (http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2795&p=18) overclocked their X6800 to a stable 4Ghz.

You do realize DVD itself is heavily DRMed, although its CSS is easily cracked. Its Macrovision protection is flawed, and regional coding can be circumvented.
If iTS movie DRM can be cracked, would it make it a better value for you? Why are we even comparing it to DVDs? If you wish to have the convenience of portable digital downloads, then it is a great service.
I am comparing this iTMS stuff to DVDs because, duh, it costs the same.
And media companies think that I should pay the same money for less stuff in return.
The answer to your second question is YES. iTMS WILL be a better value for me if DRM was cracked, and Apple was not releasing iTunes nerfs to kill the DRM holes.
DVDs are DRMed, but this DRM is hard-coded, cannot be updated, and has already been cracked. Apple, on the other hand, plays cat-and-mouse games with crackers and does update their DRM periodically (of course, to avoid troubles with RIAA/MPAA).
Thus, no matter what they do, I am not buying their stuff. Until the price goes significantly down (read: cheaper than AllOfMP3.com).

I wonder if Apple will be able to provide the Movie Store to Europe and the rest of the world. If they can't, it's as good to me as if they didn't announce it at all. I mean look at TV Shows, what a disgrace, in Europe we might aswell still be running iTunes 4.
I think a Movie Store should be seperate from iTunes. A new store for movies, a new app for managing them.
Whats the issue with regards to TV shows only available to the USA. Why can't they be made available in the UK and Europe.

Software options are an epic fail more expensive than Apple's own Mac app store:eek:
That's because you got the physical DVDs included.
Anyway, I'm not getting these Rev A... Kidding! ;)

Congrats Apple!
Now if Apple can magically stop the knockoffs from copying it.
I hope there are extra expensive chairs lying around Ballmer's office today
Exactly. Ballmer is going to play donkey kong with his staff soon.

Err... and how is that relevant? I'm sure Blu-Ray will live on in other notebooks, but Apple's? Unlikely.
There were 100GB BDXL when Apple refreshed the MacBook Pro's this year.
There are no BDXL notebook drives yet.
Just preempting any claim that there's no place for optical drives because "BD is obsolete".
Even DVDs and CDs are not obsolete. They are mainstream distribution media.
Optical drives at not at all at "floppy time".

1.Aperture 2.0
2.MacBook Pro w/ Intel Merom
with three being some form of extenal storage device
im thinking apple branded eSATA HDD enclosures and/or esternal blu-ray burners
that would fit with the photokina site listing if apple german is the same as apple

Part of the reason Apple has done so remarkably well for years now? Sure. However it is also mostly the reason Apple still only had 5% of that market.
Oh, you have an honest streak. I like that. ;)

No, not like that at all. That one hurts my eyes. I mean there's one on there that's like the one I commented on, but same color clickwheel. Like this:

I don't know, it looks kinda pink, I would like to see it darker, blackisher (not Burgundy, mind you)

who knows they might release a mini mac style media centre with OSX that will be used to download the movies and allow you to burn it straight to DVD/Blueray lol
Okay, a FrontRow/AirPort Express/iTunes-downloadable Media Center device is SWEET!! I bet that is EXACTLY what we see Apple delivering!!

More like "click there to stream music to my mac which is connected to my sound system".
Both financially and from a space and energy consumption point of view, an Apple TV or an Airport Express is a more efficient solution for this. Apple tends to support only the efficient and simple solutions, not the cumbersome ones.
I think you got it completely wrong here. How is my WiFi router which was given to me for free by my internet provider a luxury?
You know all well that the router is not free, you pay for through your monthly payments. The fact that your provider does not offer a cheaper service without such hardware freebies is just unfortunate. Would you be happy if Apple included a free Airport Express with all Macs (but naturally increased the price for the Mac)? There is nothing free, at least in the physical world (the digital world can be very close to free, see iOS apps).
And of course Apple is getting greedy by not adding Airtunes to other wireless solutions they sell.
So, how much do think Apple is asking for licensing their Airplay technology, I'd guess at most between $5-10.

No no, I do get it. If anything its a very fine line or grey area. Not everyone has unlimited data and not everyone can get unlimited data. You also ignored my statement about AT&T actively going after the heavy data users even on unlimited plans. Also, your issue is that your wanting people to "change" well before its really time do do so. I'm always up for the latest and greatest. Please, don't be wrong on that. I spend a lot of money on tech. However, the key crutch here is cellular data and bandwidth charges. Cellular data is not where it needs to be in terms of stability and coverage. Also, not all WiFi hotspots are all that great. I've seen instances and lot of them where cellular data was faster then the hotspot. Then again, there is bandwidth usage. Until the carriers can come up with a non-gouging pricing model...especially on not so reliable connectivity, its not time to quickly do away with local storage. or physical media.
i didn't ignore anything. i stream pandora all the time when i'm on the go and while i'm at the house. my work has wifi so i just connect to that and my house wifi while i'm there. I have a buddy here at work that streams netflix and tons of other stuff but refuses to connect to wifi. he uses close to 10gb of data monthly and has still not received any message from AT&T.
My point is there are a lot of people that just don't connect to wifi when they are around it free, they just rely on their cell service instead. The reason i connect is bc when i'm looking online it's quicker internet wise then the 3g.
I'm not wanting anyone to change. but you're arguing that this service isn't great...when in reality it's just not great for you.
I like to live minimally....so having a dvd collection or cd collection of physical media does not interest me. Apparently, others think the same way or the cloud service would not exist. The service is not for you. Go back to ripping cds to your local storage device and making play list after play list and sync all ur music each time u want a variety.
Many people are the same way with books. My MIL has like 1,500 books in her house and just sees no value in a kindle and all that it provides.
I get it, people enjoy their "stuff".

You don't have to be a fanboi to laugh at this one. WP7 may be a completely reworked experience - but it doesn't matter at this point. No one wants a Windows phone anymore.
I predict by 2015 the industry pundits will be asking when Microsoft is going to pull the plug on their Windows Phone unit.

My answer was in my statement about your assumptions being ironic.
You should have been able to figure it out from that.
The fact that I have to spell it out for you is ... disappointing.

Just go hide in a cave with no technology, no one will find you. Look at Bin Laden.

Also, android has free anti-virus scanners available in there market. Apple may have some too. I think mcafee is just trying to sell product, but if I was them i would want to sell my product to EVERY person who had Android or iOS based phone, simply because that is a VERY large user base.
I am constantly amazed at the number of people who buy into this crap!
Here, I'll try to spell it out for you:
Apple has no antivirus for IOS because it would be completely useless. In order for a virus to get through to an IOS device it has to get past Apple's reviewers. That's the only way to install software of any kind on IOS, including malware.
